This wedding took place in Indianapolis Indiana but I first met Tiffany and Josh at a hibachi table in Jamaica as they were placing a traveling gnome one the grill to take a photo. We made awkward eye contact across the table and then laughed hard. We quickly realized I was the photographer for the wedding they were attending. Friendship came quick and easily for us the similarities between Tiffany and my life made for the makings of the worst funny inside jokes nobody else could possibly understand but us. When Josh proposed she immediately contacted me and swore me to secrecy about EVERY detail about the wedding. She DIYed her entire wedding herself down to the florals. No planner no coordinator.
Everything about this wedding was unique and out of the norm it was as if Urban met Midsummers Night Dream and had a baby. They got ready at the historical artsy Murphy Building This building is full of twists and turns. There were hallways that led to nowhere but painted walls, graffiti walls, an old bank vault and elevator, wood floors, and a foosball machine. As all of her “squad” got ready all of a sudden catering comes in… TACOS. Yep you heard it she catered TACOS!!! Her hair and makeup was done by the talented Jason Hagemier and team at JH Studio. Her dress was GORGEOUS she rocked it with a jaw dropping pair of blue Badgely Mischka heels that would give Carrie Bradshaw shoe envy. She paired it with emerald earrings. The shoes and earrings perfectly matched the colors of her wedding.
The wedding was AH-MAZING. They were married at Saint Patricks Church in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Her bridesmaids all had different blue dresses and all carried air plants forgoing the traditional wedding bouquets. You will notice non traditional is a theme of this wedding. Tiffany walked down and aisle made of Moss to meet her husband Josh. Their nuptials were as perfect as this cathedral church. After the wedding we all jumped on a trolly and headed further into downtown to do some fun portraits. What we didn’t expect is mid portrait session an Irish band in kilts walking the streets came up to to take photos and play some songs as well. The unexpected always are the best memories.
The reception was at The Pavilion of Pan Am in the heart of Indy! This venue was INSANE such a stark difference than any Florida wedding I have ever shot. The place was decorated in moss, air plants, babies breath, candles, and vintage silver. Everything was up lit in these vibrant lights. I was stopped in my tracks the moment I walked in. Tiffany works for Jagermeister so this was a definite theme throughout the wedding. Everyones table card was actually a bottle of Jager with their names on it. Jager machines were installed along with a life size Jenga with Jager on it. They had a Siracha station and the catering was provided by Ruths Chris. They not only had an awesome DJ from DJs Direct but they surprised everyone with a real New Orleans band that kicked the party up just a notch. Tiffany planned all these surprises for her guests but what she did not expect is that her friends and family had a few surprises for her. Her cousins surprised her with a recreation of Gilligans Island song transformed into a song about her and Josh complete with a slideshow. Tiffany’s bridesmaids all created these hysterical wood signs with nicknames on them. As I read the signs I laughed, only to find out that these were all nicknames bestowed upon them by Tiffany. My take away from this wedding is Tiffany and Josh are two very very loved people. So many people gathered around these two people and showered them with so much love and support. Congratulations Tiffany and Josh I love you two so much I’ll see you crazies in a few months. xoxox
